My Working Day * Текст для чтения

I’m a pupil of the 11th form and I don’t have much spare time. My daily programme is very busy, but it’s almost the same every day. I have only one holiday, which is Sunday. So, I have to study six days a week. My working day starts at 7 o’clock sharp, when my alarm clock wakes me up. It’s very difficult to get up so early, especially in winter, when it’s still dark. But I make myself overcome laziness, get up and do my morning exercises. If it’s autumn or spring, I open the window to let the fresh air in. Then I go to the bathroom. There I take a warm shower and brush my teeth. After this I finally feel quite awake. I return to my room, dress up and do the bed. Some people say that it’s healthy to eat much in the morning, but my breakfast is very light. I usually have a cup of tea or black coffee and a sandwich. I have all this finished by 8 o’clock and then I leave the house.

The school where I study is situated not far from my place, but still I have to take a tram to get there. Fortunately, I don’t have to wait for too long. I get off at the next stop but one, which is just opposite the school. As usual, I arrive there at 8.20. My lessons start at 8.30, so I have only ten minutes to leave my coat in the cloakroom, go upstairs and take my seat. But it’s enough for me. All the compulsory classes are over at 3.30 p.m., but those who are going to take exams this year also take some optional classes. So, I’m back home by 5.30 p.m. every day. I do the shopping on my way home. Fortunately for me, it is my mother who does the cooking in our family.

Studying makes me feel hungry, that’s why my dinner is the most substantial meal of the day. After dinner I do my room and have a rest, which is usually reading, watching TV or listening to music. At 7 o’clock I start doing my homework. It takes me three, sometimes four hours. I don’t have any supper, but from time to time I make short breaks in my studies and drink a cup of hot tea. When I’m through with my homework I wash my hands and face, brush the teeth, make the bed and go to sleep.

The next day starts at 7 o’clock sharp and it is almost similar with the previous one, though there always exists some difference. That’s what I can tell you about my daily routine.
